Activar is a non-profit local development association, which helps the community by developing various social and cultural projects for children, the youth and vocational training.
In March 1999, a group of people interested in participating in the development of Lousã came together to reflect on how best to cooperate to achieve local development. This was the genesis of the Activar project.
Activar has been an accredited training entity since 2004 and has been registered as a Charitable Foundation and a Public Utility Institution since March 2010.
The association is a member of the Social Network, the Youth and Sports Advisory Council, the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People and the participatory forum for local Agenda 21 in the municipality of Lousã. It is also associated with Aflopinhal and Dueceira, as well as with Animar, the National Association for Local Development. At international level, Activar is also involved in three work platforms focusing on the youth and vocational training.

- Castle Route
It takes you along the trails that connect the Lousã Castle to the Aldeia do Xisto of Talasnal, covering a distance of approximately 6 km
- Levada Route
In the heart of the Natura 2000 Network, the Levada Route invites you to discover some of the biodiversity refuges of the Serra da Lousã. Forest Route
