The Aldeias do Xisto of Góis are once again honoring tradition by hosting another edition of the Carnival Race. This year's celebration will take place on March 2.
Revelers, dressed in old clothes and traditional cork masks, will gather early, at 8:30am in Aigra Nova and then set off toward the neighboring villages of Pena, Cerdeira and Pontão Sótão.
In the afternoon, back in Aigra Nova, the festivities will feature the much-anticipated recitation of playful verses, the Jogo do Pau (Stick Game), the Queima do Entrudo (Carnival Bonfire) and plenty of musical entertainment.
