The Míscaros - Mushroom Festival is returning to the village of Alcaide, in the municipality of Fundão, from 15 to 17 November. This initiative explores and highlights the region’s strong fungal heritage.
Visitors can marvel at the surrounding nature of the Gardunha hillside, get to know different ways of cooking and tasting several species of mushrooms and other regional specialities in the characteristic taverns in the village specially prepared for the event.
On 16 November, the 6th edition of CÃOgumelo will take place, a refreshing walk full of smells and wise words from some of the guests, in the company of our ever-faithful canine friends. In an environment created around these two themes - dogs and mushrooms - the aim is, along with the two guests, to encourage the sharing and the increase of knowledge concerning both subjects. The novelty of this edition is the 1st CÃOgumelo photo contest, the challenge being to find the best photo with your canine friend during the walk. Registration, costing €3, can be made by sending an email to glocacorreia.alpetratinia@gmail.com. Further information can be obtained by calling +351 966 837 225.
Ricardo Torres, Anabela Marisa Azul and Sílvia Leão are leading this year’s edition of the Fungi Walks, scheduled for 17 November. Registrations are limited to 100 people and can be made via email to miscarosfestivalinscricoes@gmail.com.
