Between May and July 2026, the “Learning to Fish in the Schist Villages” programme invites families to spend a unique day in contact with nature, alongside the region’s rivers and streams.
Across four different sessions in various villages, participants are invited to discover recreational fishing in an accessible and guided way, in a peaceful setting that encourages socialising and sharing. Organised by the Oleiros Recreational and Cultural Association (A.R.C.O), with the support of ADXTUR – the Agency for the Tourism Development of the Schist Villages, the programme combines theoretical and practical fishing sessions.
Each session focuses on a specific species — bass, trout or cyprinids — allowing participants to gain a better understanding of the rivers, local species and the environments in which they thrive. Adopting a responsible approach, all experiences adhere to the principles of catch-and-release fishing, promoting respect for aquatic ecosystems and the conservation of species. An initiative designed for those seeking quality family time in contact with nature, with opportunities to learn, discover and share.
Participation is limited to 30 people per session, with registration costing €25 and €15 for children (up to 11 years old), and must be booked via the Bookinxisto platform.
