A summary of the projects Água Musa, L4Craft and Agricultura Lusitana, which are part of the trilogy Craft+Design+Identity of the Aldeias do Xisto, will be on show in an exhibition that will be divided between Casino Fundanense and the Loja Aldeias do Xisto da Barroca, in Fundão, from 7 August to 30 September, as part of the CALE Festival
These projects are a reflection based on the reality of the Aldeias do Xisto and on Portuguese culture, immersing themselves in the values of nature, territory and the Portuguese spirit, in order to reinvent the culture of places and promote personal and collective well-being. Craft+Design and the transversal connections that have been made in this area, is currently in constant movement and consolidation." João Nunes, project advisor.
This is a unique opportunity to appreciate up close the exclusive pieces of these three projects and let yourself be enveloped in the identity they evoke. They are pieces that carry within them the artisan's know-how, the craftsmen's mastery, the memory of the villages, rooted in our culture and created in a participative, inclusive process and with an innovative methodology.
Since 2013, the Aldeias do Xisto have been following this strategy based on linking design with brand and territory management, immersing themselves in the reality of the villages, inviting craftsmen, schools and designers to reinterpret Portuguese culture.
All three projects were present at the EUNIQUE- International Fair for Applied Arts and Design, in Karlsruhe, Germany, with the latter Agricultura Lusitana project representing Portugal as a guest country at that show.
